Arthur N. L. Chiu Arthur
N.L. Chiu, P.E., Emeritus Professor of Civil Engineering, UH-Manoa, passed
away on Monday morning, January 30, 2006, following a massive stroke after
installing the 2006 officers of the Structural Engineers Association of
Hawaii on Friday evening, January 27, 2006. He
was the third son (and fourth child) of the late Chiu Seck Joo and Wong
Yuek Ngo, both originally from Dr.
Chiu had 44 service years with the State of There
was never a dull moment for him, and he strived for perfection in all his
activities. He was a workaholic
who lived to work. He thrived
on his work, and very much loved doing what he did. Survivors
include Katherine, his beloved wife of 53 ½ years, his favorite
